Bring a rock hammer and start hunting for garnets. This is the only rock hounding area in the Ely District, so keep your eyes on the look out for the ruby red semi-precious stones. Magnuson Hotel Park Vue is a great garnet hill hotel as it's located a short 20 minute drive away.
